While waiting for Steven Spielberg’s big-screen adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The BFG this July, a new trailer has been released today, and it finally gives us a first look at the titular “big, friendly giant,” as well as some other giants living in the country.
The BFG tells the story of Sophie, who was plucked from her orphanage in the middle of the night was taken to Giant Country by the BFG because he “hears her lonely heart”. From there, they must work together to get rid of the evil giants once and for all.
Ruby Barnhill stars as little girl Sophie, while Oscar-winning actor Mark Rylance plays the role of the BFG. Also starring in the film are Penelope Wilton, Jemaine Clement, Rebecca Hall, Rafe Spall, and Bill Hader.
The BFG hits US theaters on July 1st.
